2024/25 REGISTRATION, PRE-SEASON & SEASON INFORMATION

It is with great pleasure that we welcome all new and returning players to Vikings Women’s Softball Club for the upcoming season of Summer Softball. We are looking forward to reconnecting with our Vikings families and have included some valuable information for the 2024/25 season.

Registrations
Registrations are open online from the 5th July 2024, through the RevSport website, and we encourage all members to register using the online registration form. However, if you prefer to complete this in person, you are welcome to join us at Registration Day (Details provided below).

For any returning players, including those who have played for another club, select RETURNING MEMBER. When registering, please use your personalised Softball ID. If you do not remember your number, please contact our Registrar at registrar@vikingssoftball.com.au and we will forward it to you.

For any new players, select NEW MEMBER. This is any player that has NOT been involved in any Softball WA (SWA) Competition that has not used RevSport previously.

It is important that you choose the correct playing group when registering, please see below for more detailed descriptions of your choices:

  • Senior Player – Must be 15 years of age or older and have the capability to play in an adult competition.

  • Junior also playing Seniors – Electing to play in both a Junior and Senior Competition. Must be at least 13 years of age and have the capability to play in an adult competition. You will also be required to purchase a full uniform.

  • Junior Player – Must be 17 years of age or under (at 31st December 2023). This is to be used for all junior age groups: U14s, U16s and U18s. Contact will be made after registration to confirm selection if required. If we find we do not have a Under 18 PSL competition, any player over the age of 15 at the 31st December 2024, will need to play in a Senior team.

  • Vets – Must be 40 years of age or older. This playing group is to be used for both Vikings players or players from an affiliated competition with another club wishing to play Vets for Vikings. This competition is played on a Tuesday night.

Please note:
Balance paid via Bank Transfer – This option will require you to pay the SA/SWA Individual Insurance Membership fees through the Rev Sports payment system at the end of the registration form. No additional account fees will be charged at this step as Vikings will be absorbing these RevSport costs. The remaining balance will be invoiced to you, and are to be paid directly into the VWSC Bank account OR email treasurer@vikingssoftball.com.au to request the payment plan options that are available.
Full Payment online – If you wish to pay in full at time of Registration, this option will allow you to pay via Credit Card for the full balance through the RevSport payment system at the end of the registration form. This option will be available by request only, as it requires an additional link to be sent.
Please note: Any Registration/Uniform fees paid through RevSport payment option other than the initial SWA fee will incur additional bank fees.

In addition to your Registration, you will need to pay a $30 Umpiring or Fundraising Levy. This season it will be a requirement of every registered member (Junior and Senior). The funds raised will be allocated into two groups. The Junior proceeds will go towards the Plate Umpiring Fee. The Senior proceeds will continue to cover the general operations of the Club, including additional equipment that is maintained and replaced as required. No additional fundraising requests will be expected for our members to be part of for the balance of the season.

This levy will be added to your final payment balance invoice sent out after registrations have closed. Please note: Team base umpiring duties will still need to be organised within each team.

Registration Day
Date: Sunday 11th August 2024
Time: 2pm to 5pm
Location: Vikings Softball Grounds Kingsway, cnr Hartman Drive & Hepburn Ave Madeley.

This is a great opportunity to complete your in-person registration, try on uniforms including our new Vikings Playing Shirts and other merchandise, catch up with friends and enjoy some food & drinks from the canteen while supporting the Vikings Men’s Softball Club.

We are a KidSport registered Club, so if you qualify, please make sure you apply before Registration Day.

2024/25 Registration Fees
Due to increases from Softball WA on both Team Fees & Individual Registration/Insurance and Plate Umpiring fees, Vikings Women’s Fastpitch Club Inc 2024/25 Fees have increased slightly. And are as follows:
Junior player $180.00
Junior player also playing Seniors $375.00
Senior player $345.00
Senior player also playing Vets $480.00
Vets only player $270.00
Vets player (in affiliated competition) $240.00
Senior Plate Umpiring costs are included in fees, Junior Umpiring is incorporated into the levy. FIFO workers rate can apply on request.

Returning State Representative Players
With additional funding and sponsorship opportunities available to the club, VWSC are delighted to be continuing to offer State Representative travelling female player the 50% reduction in the 2024/25 Summer Registration Fees, to help support your continued commitment to playing with Vikings.

VWCS will also continue to put in place a 25% Registration Fee deduction for any new Under 16 and above current State Representative player that registers with Vikings on their first Summer season.

When registering for this discount, please contact the VWSC Registrar AFTER initial registration so we can send you the personalised discount link to your new membership.

Pre-Season
Pre-season training is an opportunity for all returning and new players, playing in the senior competitions, to come together to connect for the season ahead. We understand that some may have other Winter Sports and commitments, however, we would appreciate everyone attending one, if not both as this assists with the grading process.
Session 1: Wednesday 18th September 7pm to 9pm
Session 2: Wednesday 25th September 7pm to 9pm
Both sessions will be held at Kingsway Softball Grounds on Hartman Road, Madeley.

Training
Regular Wednesday night training will start on the 2nd of October
Juniors from 4.30pm (rugby/cricket oval/John Maloney) venue TBA.
Seniors from 7pm at Kingsway

Regular Monday night batting cage sessions will run during the season from 6-8pm, with the expectation to start on the 7th of October.

Uniforms
Full Vikings Uniform is compulsory. All uniforms (including Junior Uniforms with a refundable deposit), can be ordered directly through the SHOP link, or in person with the committee on Registration Day. The minimum uniform required for all players is a new design Playing Shirt, Black Vikings pants, Socks and a Hat or Visor. Uniforms must be paid in full before you will receive them. Undershirts are optional but must be Black in colour.

As Vikings have made the compulsory change to a new design Playing Shirt and logo, VWCS are pleased to of been able to offer the 1st Playing Shirt FREE of charge to anyone who participated in the BBQ fundraising in the offseason. If you were not available to take advantage of this offer, but would still like to, there may be a chance to be involved in another one on an upcoming Sunday. Please register your interest to registrar@vikingssoftball.com.au.

Hoodies, Jackets and other additional merchandise can also be ordered via the SHOP link or in person on Registration Day where Samples Sizes will also be available to try on with most being available on the day.

Team Numbers
The club will be looking to field both senior and junior teams (U14 mixed, U16 & U18 girls if the competition is available) consisting of a maximum of twelve players per team. Senior players automatically go onto a team list in order of registered date and deposit paid. Once the quota is filled, all subsequent registrations will go onto a waiting list.

Under 14s: Due to previous years' struggles to fill multiple sides, Vikings will only be nominating One (1) Under 14 mixed side. Once registrations reach 13, all following nominations will go on a waiting list. Due to the expected downsize to a single team, preference will be given to returning players who register on or before the 11th of August. Additional teams will only be nominated if/when numbers are adequate to completely fill an additional FULL side.

Season starting date Games
The season start date has yet to be confirmed by Perth Softball League. We will let all players know when this is confirmed, however, we expect the first game to commence the week starting the 7th of October.

Club Team Reach
Vikings WSC are moving from Stack Team App to Team Reach, which again we will use along with social media and email communications. The App will include fixtures links, events calendar, newsletters and team information. You can download the App from the App store or Google Play.

Social Committee
We are looking at putting together a Social Committee to run alongside but independently to the Club Committee, to put together Social Events for the season. If you have some great ideas or are interested in being part of the fun, please let us know at secretary@vikingssoftball.com.au We would love to have you onboard.

Coaches
We are seeking expressions of interest for Coaches. If you or anyone you know is interested, please fill in the nomination form available on our website, Facebook page, or contact a committee member. All coaches are required to have a WWCC and Coaching Accreditation.

Scorers and Managers
We are seeking expressions of interest for Scorers and Managers positions. If you or anyone you know is interested, please fill in the nomination form available on our website. Facebook page or contact a committee member. We encourage all officials to have a WWCC.

Committee
We are committed to supporting our members and keeping our Vikings family united. The committee are working hard to make sure our transition into our 2024/25 season is as smooth as possible and currently working on some exciting things for the upcoming season. Once we have more information to share regarding season start dates and training, we will send this information out to registered players and officials.

Upcoming AGM
Although additional information regarding the upcoming Vikings WSC Annual General Meeting will be sent out at a later date, there is no harm in booking it in your diary now. AGM date: Wednesday 25th September 2024, which falls in line with our second pre-season training.
